Delete your account

Version 1 · Last updated Oct 29, 2026

You can delete your Costnora account and its data at any time: yourself in the app, or by asking us by email.

In the app

Open Costnora on your phone and go to Settings → Security → Delete account.

Type your account's email address to confirm, tap “Delete my account”, then “Delete for good”. Your account and its data are deleted right away, the app's data is removed from your phone, and you're back at the sign-in screen. This can't be undone.

Deleting needs an internet connection. Changes on your phone that haven't synced yet are deleted too.

By email

If you don't have the app, write to karolis.mobileapp@gmail.com from the email address of your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.

We confirm by email and delete the account within one month, usually much sooner.

What we delete

  • your account: email address, name, country and sign-in
  • your projects and groups, and every entry, recurring bill, category and participant in them, including ones you deleted earlier (a shared trip that goes to another member stays, see below)
  • your memberships in trips shared with you, and invitations still waiting for you
  • short-lived technical records about your account, such as invitation limits

Shared trips

Whichever way you delete your account, a shared trip you own goes to another member (an admin first, otherwise the member who joined earliest), so the others keep it with everything in it. A trip with nobody else in it is deleted with your account.

In trips owned by other people, the entries and payments you added stay, so the trip's totals stay right for everyone else. Your participant name stays as a plain name, no longer linked to any account.

What stays

In a trip that stays, the entries you added keep only the internal ID of your deleted account, which no longer leads to a name or an email address. The other members' devices get a mark, with no name or email, that you left, so they stop showing you as a member.

Crash reports don't contain your name or account and expire after 30 days.
